AIDAS stands for Attention, Interest, Desire, Action and Satisfaction.

Attention: The text on your website should be so attractive that it catches visitors attention. This is because when you catch someone’s attention, the probability of them to read the content increases. You can use some attractive buttons or animations or colorful ads to catch visitor’s attention.

Interest: Once you successfully catch your visitors attention, you need to make sure that that they explore your site. This can only be possible if the content interests them; i.e. if they get what they are looking for. You can give some useful information to your visitors to keep them sticking to your site. You may include some tips, techniques or tricks to accomplish certain tasks. This will work because everyone wants easy ways to accomplish things and if you provide them consistently, you will have a large amount of loyal visitors.

Desire: Your content should force your visitors with the desire to buy the product from you. For this the content should have proper information about the product(s) you are selling. One easy way of increasing the desire is to give some type of freebies. Discounts, Referral incentives and product spotlight; all these can yield a great result in increasing the desire of your visitor.

Action: If the initial 3 steps made the visitor stay at the website then you should now expect the visitor to take some action. Action could be that you expect the visitor to order the product or see a demo (if available) or send you an email or contact you. To facilitate action from the user there should be a call to action button or link that is prominent enough for the user to click. Look at the Buy Now or Download links/buttons that are used on commodity sites.

Satisfaction: Once you have successfully converted your visitor into a prospect, its time to give them the best service possible. Your customers might encounter problems with the product they purchased from your site, so they would come to you looking for a solution. At such times giving them excellent service is very mandatory because they are your ambassadors. You need to remember that they have purchased the product from your website and it was not a face to face deal. So when you help someone who has never seen you, it develops a trust between the two. And this trust helps you in getting more customers because your satisfied ones will always praise you. So the good words about your product or company will soon spread rapidly giving you more visibility and business.
